Lukas presented his paper entitled: “Experimental Investigations of Decentralised Control Design for The Stabilisation of Rotor-Gas Bearings”. During the conference, Lukas established contact to Professor J. F. Camino with whom he will be working during his external stay.

Lukas R. S. Theisen presented his paper: “Experimental Grey Box Model Identification and Control of an Active Gas Bearing: Theory and Experiment”. The conference participation provided valuable feeedback and the method was extended, resulting in another conference publication “Modelling of Rotor-gas bearings for Feedback Controller Design” for ACD 2014 and a journal publication “Modelling and Identification for Control of Gas Bearings” published in Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing.

During February to April 2015, Søren stayed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Søren visited Marcelo Savi and his group at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro to collaborate on modelling the thermo-mechanical and geometrical non-linear behaviour of shape memory alloy springs.
